Community
Apart from the small clusters
of houses in the Balhall area and in the Kirkton of Menmuir and
nearby Tigerton, the population is a scattered one, living mainly
in farm houses or cottages. the area's combination of a pleasant rural
environment with proximity to the facilities of Brechin and Edzell makes
it attractive to incomers, and the activities organised in the Menmuir
Hall by a lively committee create a warm community spirit in which both
recent arrivals and long established farming families share.
